Record. Mix. Master.
A great debut CD by this eclectic group. "The One Constant" (Songlines) is sort of hard to pin down easily. It is jazz in spirit, with many other facets. It was a real joy to work with them and hope they come back for another one. JazzWrap | A Jazz Music Blog: Danny Fox Trio: The One Constant Danny Fox Trio :: news

I am all locked up snug in my apartment waiting out the this blizzard we are experiencing. With all this time on my hands I've been pondering the year's accomplishments. I worked on a lot of CD's this year and must thank you all who let me play a part in getting your music out there to the masses. I'm really lucky to get to work with you all. BUT....that is not all! The above video is a trailer for a new fangled iPhone game "Rocket Sheep Rampage". This is sort of old news. but it's 2010 news none the less...

My friend Paul and I are building seventeen mic preamps. ClassicAPI VP26. Most are for Paul a couple are for me. And a few for friends of ours. They are based on the preamp circuit of 70's API consoles and they sound incredibly great. API was sort of known as the source of the "West Coast Sound", but the manufacturing of those consoles was actually done in close proximity to NYC. There's over 700 of the classic consoles out there still. Lots of legendary L.A. studios (The Record Plant and Sunset Sound) had API consoles...

Recording lots of records. Mr. Pickles (pictured) seems not too impressed. He was quite an engineer in his time (really, google him) and has quite a few album credits. He's been retired for a few years...

New Mics at the S.F. AES Show I didn't make it out to the San Francisco AES Show this year, but, got plenty of reports of some great looking new mics. Getting a lot of attention was Australian mic outfit, Beez Neez. They are one of the few companies making all components for their mics in house. They have a real look of quality (hopefully sound as well, I'm going to be checking out a few demo unit in the near future) and hopefully that extends to their sound as well. AEA has been doing ribbon mics since before...
